Birthday Birthday Birthday

Well Ollie really liked his cake. Like REALLY liked it. And he also apparently likes ice cream and chocolate milkshakes. Go figure. We just kind of relaxed on his big day, settled in to our new digs. And after he went to bed, the parents and grandparents had lots of champagne. We reminisced about the birth and laughed about all things we love about Ollie. A few highlights.

The Birth
1. I was EXTREMELY grateful to the nurse who helped me breath though the contractions.
2. I was extremely annoyed that people were laughing and carrying on in the delivery room so I booted everyone out. Several times.
3. Mick was amazed at seeing the baby's head appear.
4. My parents were amazed to see their daughter go through labor and deliver a baby.
5. Ollie was like a fuzzy doll baby.

A few things about Ollie that we love
1. Watching him forage around his crib before he beds down. It like he's a woodland animal fluffing his twiggy nest.
2. The abuse he bestows upon Piggy. The bitting of eye threads, the banging against the crib rails, the drop kick to the floor.
3. The total bear hugs he gives, and the way he puts his arms around your neck, sighs and puts his head on your chest.
4. His non-stop babbling, " Booooo, Bluuu, wowowowowo ...."
5. His amazement with eveyrthing.

Happy birthday baby, we are so lucky to know and love you.
