Hiiiiii! here are some updates.

Well I forgot my camera cord, so we can't upload pics until we get home BUT I thought I'd make some notes. Ollie is certainly turning into a social toddler, telling everyone 'Hi!" and "Bye Bye!" flirting with both men and women, and following random children around playgrounds whether they like it or not. He's also totally expressing what he wants (playing and laughing) AND of course what he doesn't want (anything involving straps or being handled).

He absolutely loved the beach—we put him in a floaty in a calm part of the ocean and he squealed and splashed. Ollie has also mastered climbing up things, down steps etc ... and is really becoming independent (in his own mind at least). And most recently (like this week) he's learned some animal sounds ... he knows how to roar like a lion, screech like a monkey and moo like a cow. We just can't believe it. Ollie is also imitating a lot more so if we come in a room and go 'Boo!" he goes boo, and when we go "weeeeeeee" down a side, he goes weeeeeee.

It is a challenging age though, and every piece of info we have read about toddlers seems to be right on—the mood swings, the determination, the curiosity, the protests and, of course, the joy in seeing our baby become his own person.
